WHEN DIDIL WEDS DIDI

I simply love weddings! Especially one that you get to be totally involved in. Eversince the HFMD scare at home, our family has been pretty busy preparing for Uncle Adil's wedding. You see, Mummy's one and only brother finally tied the knot with Auntie Dianah, his beau of 4 years. To say that we were busy as bees is such and understatement. What have we been up to, you may ask?

Well, I for one, was busy being the flowergirl on two occasions - for the dinner on Saturday as well as the lunch reception on Sunday. On Saturday evening, however, I was panic-stricken and dumb-founded the moment I stepped into the hall and heard thunderous clappings from the guests. It didn't help that there were various photographers clicking their huge cameras away simultaneously, blurring my vision. I was suddenly stuck to the ground and refused to move an inch. Lucky for me, Mummy being my assistant for the evening, immediately took the initiative to throw the flowers to the ground. Heh! It must have been an embarassing moment for her, to say the least. Sorry Mum!

I performed better on Sunday though, particularly because my Auntie Aishah was there to give support and guidance. And so, I duitifully undertook my task with a great big smile.

Adik Ihsan on the other hand, PRETENDED to be busy.....

Ihsan was also BUSY in the company of girls -most of them, older than him....

Too bad he was taking his afternoon nap when this gorgeous bambino came. He'd definitely smother her with kisses. Heh!

Anyway, we had a swell time. We truly hope that Uncle Adil & Aunty Dianah have a blissful marriage, Insya Allah. Amin.

Yo, whazzup y' all? It's Ihsan in da house!

And I mean LITERALLY IN DA HOUSE!

I've been cooped up at home. Imprisoned by people who called themselves "my parents". All because I showed (among others) the following signs:
  • High fever for a couple of days - I'm HOT, HOT, HOT, baby!

  • Ulcers in the mouth - resulted in a significant drop in my appetite

  • Tiredness / weakness - learnt the true meaning of rilek one corner

  • Rashes on the soles of my feet - went back to basics and started crawling. heh!

And so, that put a total stop to any outdoor activities. No more visits to my favourite playground. No more weekly swim at Downtown East. No more outdoor breakfast on weekends. No more school - both for Kakak Iman & I. *sighs*

Nevertheless, this whole thing has hit Mummy the most. Daddy somehow got away cos he's down for reservist for a week or so in a remote and faraway land - don't ask me where but it sounds really 'ulu'. By the time he comes home, I think I'd have recovered, Insya Allah.

But Mummy said we've become such a boisterous pair, always shouting and running around in the house the moment our eyes see the world. Nenek complained that we can be heard even if the house is 4 stories high. Bibik expressed her worries that we've been addicted to the t.v. Oh, did I mention that we've become quite IRRITATING and have been driving everyone in the household up the wall.

"You don't look like you've been down with HFMD, Ihsan!" one of my aunties noted. Hmmm, what say you.......

Anyway, I'm getting bored at home, especially since everyone in the household has run out of ideas to entertain us. Any suggestions? Oh well, I guess in the mean time, I'll just go and hibernate and 'rileks one cornerlah', hor?

Till next time, guys! It's Ihsan checking out.... :)

SEEING RED

In view of Valentine's Day and in tune with Chinese New Year, Daddy Dearest presented Mummy with this sassy scarlet baby.... OK, WISHFUL THINKING! Hmmm, this is more like it....
Syukur Alhamdulillah, praises be to Allah for this totally unexpected 'kurnia'. In retrospect however, having this baby would mean that:
  • Mummy would have more independance to go anywhere she wants, on her own accord (read: Daddy doesn't have to chauffuer her around ALL the time in his Ody)

  • Mummy would have to undertake the duty of sending me to my enrichment classes on weekends (read: Daddy would then have more time to play his all time favourite computer game of "Command & Conquer")

  • Mummy would have to think of servicing the monthly payments, annual road tax as well as motor insurance (read: Mummy would have less moolahs for her monthly shopping indulgences - a habit that Daddy's been trying very, very hard to 'discourage')

Oh ok.... NOW I undertsand why Daddy was so adamant in paying for the deposit and in Mummy getting the baby! *slaps forehead* Nonetheless, thanks hor, Daddy! Mummy <3>

FIKIRANITES UNITE!

It's been quite some time since Daddy’s buddies of 16 years met up. A couple of them couldn't make it for my birthday celebration by the park due to work commitments and the likes. As such, when they got the golden ticket to hang out like the good old days, they basically left their soul mates to handle the extra baggage….

(Mummies & Their Kids)

Whilst they do what they usually do best. Relax one corner….

(Shh... Important Meeting In Progress!)

And when that happens, the Fikiranites took the opportunity to take after their Daddies' footsteps to chill out and look cool….

(Chilling Out With The Rest)

Oklah, to be fair to Daddy, it's been a gazillion years since the ging gang of Fikiran Plaza hanged out WITHOUT their families. The frequent weekend dinners at Simpang Bedok, Jalan Kayu or Mak's Place have always been handful and demanding – with the Daddies having to entertain and run after their young ones who are forever seeking the formers’ attention.

On hindsight, it’s strange how these 'lepakz' days evolved over the years. When they were much younger (read: no bulging tummies and no receding hairlines), the Fikiran Plaza (which consisted of more than 20 members in their golden era) were simply contented with the 60 cents coffee which could last them 2-3 hours. Then, the dating game began and to impress the Fikiranitas, they painfully upgraded themselves to the $5 mochas at coffee joints like Starbucks, Coffee Club, Coffee Bean and Olio Dome. With evolution and as the number of kids grew in strength, the Fikiran Plaza seemed to have settled for anything that can accommodate the kids, anywhere just as long the kids can run around without any danger zones in sight.

Sigh! Talking about kids, I'm missing my other Fikiranites already…. If not for a suspected case of chicken pox and the crankiness of some of the Fikiranites, I think we may have stayed like till forever at West Coast's McD. Daddy, can't you just take MC on Chinese New Year so that we can join them for the trip up north? This one Aunty Yan suggested one, hor! Not I said one…. :P

(P/S: Aunty Yan, Mummy said you can 'kapur' the pictures if you want. She said no need pay interest. Just some of the mouth-watering cupcakes you’ve been baking will do…. :))

FANTASTIC FOUR

I'd like to share my delight and excitement in attaining the 'Fantastic Four' Award with the following people. Without whom, I'd most probably be stucked with 'Terrible Two' or 'Troublesome Three'! Hehehe...

My family and friends who were there to celebrate this memorable and unforgettable occasion with me....

My Mummy who ensured that the basic needs of my guests were met.... (For the record, Mummy went to the extent of ensuring that EVERY kid gets a prize during the lucky draw.)

My Daddy who taught me the know-hows of kite-flying and cycling....

My Aunty Dibz & Aunty Tiq who helped with the logistics and wonderful balloon sculpturings....

And NOT forgetting my absolutely adorable brother who had to purposely fall down and 'victimise' the tantalising cupcakes baked by Aunty Teatea....

Thanks hor, Adik Ihsan! THAT really made my day! :P

More pictures at Mummy's Multiply.... SOON!

A DREAMER'S DREAM

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
~ Eleanor Roosevelt

I'm a dreamer, all rite! When I was two, I chose to dream that I was a princess. One who was pretty, always dressed in a gorgeous gown and loved by all - especially my Daddy! When I turned three, I dreamed of becoming one of the Power Rangers - the PINK one - but powerful and strong, no less. Now that my fourth birthday is just around the corner, Mummy asked me what I dreamed and wished for.

Hmmm, now that she's asking, do you think it'd hurt if I were to reveal that deep in my heart, I'm really longing for this magnificent coach....

Or this dreamy Victorian mansion....

Or maybe this dangerously attractive driving machine....

Hmmmm, or perhaps, I should just wish for.... er, WORLD PEACE?

A NOTE TO MUMMY

Dear Mummy,

I know you've been pretty busy lately. (Ok, so what else is new? *rolls eyes*). Besides the jam-packed daily schedule on weekdays, your hands are now tied on weekends. On Saturdays for instance, you would rush me to religious class at 8 in the morning, pick me up by 10 plus and send me home almost instantaneously, without any haggling. You don't mind going the extra mile (and taking the bus when Daddy is not around) for you firmly believe that a strong foundation in one's faith will go a long, long way....

Once we are home, you would ensure that I have an early lunch and put me to sleep so that I have ample rest before I proceed for my enrichment class at 3 p.m. - now it's piano time! I'd really like to thank you Mummy, for you gave me the liberty to choose a class that interests me. Inspired by this adorable girl, I decided to choose piano @ Seimpic, over speech & drama, kinderart or swimming. Maybe someday, we can play some music together ya, Tata?

Mummy, I know that you are sometimes worried about us, especially since Ihsan is now in the childcare together with me. You are afraid that little Ihsan will not be able to adapt with the new surroundings and the new daily routine that he's now succumbed to. Most of all, I'm sure you are afraid to let your little prince go, cos' time and again, people have commented that Ihsan is a tad too small for his age - so much so that you are afraid that he may be undermined by the others around him.

Not to worry Mummy, cos' as the elder sister, I will always be looking out for Ihsan. But on SECOND thoughts, there is NO extreme need for me to consistently protect Ihsan cos' I'm proud to say that my lil brother can very well take care of himself. You would have beamed with pride Mummy, cos Ihsan didn't cry on his first day in the childcare. Not one bit! He looked and acted very much like the 'seniors' who had been there in the childcare before him. And to tell you the truth, he seemed to love enjoy their company more than those of his age.

For now, the only thing we'd like you to do is to take good care of your health, Mummy. Please eat well Mummy, cos we know you tend to take late lunches due to the overwhelming workload that you have at your workplace. Please sleep well Mummy, cos we know you tend to burn the midnight oil, trying to complete so many tasks at hand. Most importantly Mummy, we hope you are aware that no matter what you do or where you are, we'll always love you......

Loads of love,
Iman, your princess...

P/S: Oh! And Mummy, we are SOOOOO happy that you are doing your final semester of the Masters course. This means that we would be able to see you more often in the near future ESPECIALLY in the evenings, no? Yippie!!!!!
